I talked to Tandy on 2/12 and he told me that my ACL is definitely torn, but everything else looks fine. So that means I don’t have to have surgery as long as my knee is stable. I will wear a brace, which I do already, and ride in Dallas on 2/20! I have to give God the credit for this good news. He hears us when we pray!
Tandy said the ACL is not necessary for riding bulls, just getting away. I guess I am going to have to rely on those awesome bull fighters even more now. Please keep praying that I stay strong in my faith and don’t doubt myself going into the biggest one-day bull riding event in history. I want to stay on five of the rankest bulls in the world. I am going to need God’s strength to do it. I know that He will be glorified if I give it my all and trust Him. I hope that you do the same.
In Jesus,
Wiley P

Hi Wiley
Really sorry to hear you injured you knee again, but so glad that you are going to be able to continue riding wearing a brace. We have been praying all week that your injury wouldn’t need surgery, and that you will be back to full health and strength as soon as possible.
CONGRATULATIONS on winning in Tampa – the only man to ride 4 bulls that weekend.
Good Luck for the Iron Cowboy Invitational next weekend.
We still think of you everytime we drive past the statue of Braveheart.
God bless you and your lovely family.
from your friends in Scotland.

I hope & pray that you do well on the 20th. I enjoy watching you ride bulls because it looks like you’re having so much fun. I know God will keep you strong. I hope someday to see you ride in person. I’ll be praying for you.

We have been praying for you and your injury. Is this type of injury going to require surgery at some point?
I just saw that you will be able to compete in Dallas! How exciting! My family and I are rooting for ya!
Thanks for all of your work that you are doing in the Lord’s kingdom! My family and I are Christians, also, and are so thankful that you are able to use PBR as a stage to spread the Gospel! The Lord is using you (and your family) well! Our work of spreading the Gospel is NEVER complete.
In Him,
Jenine

Greetings in The Name of Jesus! While this has nothing to do with this post, I could not find another way to ask you about the prayer given at the Iron Man event.
When I saw that you were praying at the opening, I felt so blessed, knowing that The Name of Jesus would be lifted up. Words cannot express the pain I felt when I heard the words, “in your name”. It felt like a knife going into my heart. In whose name? The Name of Jesus cannot be used in public, and now I am lead to believe that His Name cannot be used at the PBR?
PBR has been just about the only thing I watch or look forward to, as there is not much left to watch without having to filter it. It is something my grandchildern can watch.
Jesus said to ask in my name and it shall be done.
His name is JESUS.

Dear JJ,
I appreciate your concern. I understand what you are saying. I was asked by the producer of the Versus show if I would do the prayer and I asked him if I could pray in Jesus’ name. He told me that while he understood why I wanted to, he would prefer me to keep my prayer nondenominational. The PBR has a broad audience and they are trying to take into consideration people from all faiths. Had I refused to comply with their request of not saying Jesus’ name, they would have simply had the announcer say a prayer as they always do.
I sorry if you were offended. God bless you.
Sincerely,
Wiley

Wiley,
Hi, I just found this site a few days ago and I have been touched by your blogs. First of all, I am praying for a miracle healing in your body. I know God can do it, because He is no respecter of persons! He’s the same yesterday, today, and forever. I sent out His Word of healing for you, “By His stripes you are healed,” because He watches over His Word to perform it! I’m standing with you! Praise God! I can’t wait to hear the good news of your quick recovery!
Also, I just wanted to comment on your “rantings.” I think they are amazing! They are Spirit filled and Spirit led! Thank you for speaking from your heart and speaking the Truth! Idea: You should put those so called “rantings” in a Cowboy’s Devotional/Bull Rider’s Devotional! I think it would be awesome! The simplistic and meaningful message your write goes straight to the heart! I really enjoy them! Thank you so much for sharing your faith! You’ll be amazed when you get to heaven to see ‘how’ many people’s lives you have touched! God’s Joy to you and your family!
